Post-Publication Discussion

CHANNEL: Jurnal Komunikasi recognizes that scholarly discussion continues after publication. The journal welcomes constructive academic commentary, critical discussion, and evidence-based responses concerning articles published in CHANNEL to support scholarly dialogue and maintain the integrity of the academic record.

Letters to the Editor

Readers and scholars may submit Letters to the Editor addressing articles previously published in CHANNEL. Submissions may present critical analysis, alternative interpretations, methodological concerns, or findings that contribute to further discussion of the published work.

Letters must be scholarly, respectful, evidence-based, and relevant to the article being discussed. Personal attacks, defamatory statements, and unsupported allegations are not acceptable. The journal encourages submissions within 12 months of the original article's publication, although submissions outside this period may be considered when they raise significant scholarly or ethical concerns.

Right of Reply

When a Letter to the Editor is considered suitable for publication, the Editor-in-Chief may invite the original author(s) to submit a formal response. Both the letter and the response will be evaluated by the editorial team and, where necessary, independent reviewers to ensure academic rigor, fairness, and relevance.

If accepted, the letter and the author's response may be published together or in separate issues, depending on editorial scheduling and the nature of the discussion. The journal aims to provide a fair opportunity for authors to respond to substantive criticism of their work.

Post-Publication Corrections and Retractions

If a post-publication discussion or subsequent investigation identifies factual errors, methodological inaccuracies, or other issues affecting the reliability of a published article, CHANNEL will assess the concerns and take appropriate action in accordance with publication ethics principles and relevant Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidance.

Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, editorial action may include publishing a correction, an erratum, an expression of concern, or a retraction. Such actions will be taken transparently to preserve the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.

Editorial Assessment

All post-publication submissions are subject to editorial assessment. The journal reserves the right to decline submissions that fall outside its scope, lack sufficient scholarly merit, contain unsupported allegations, or fail to meet its editorial and ethical standards.
