Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-Assisted Tools

This policy applies to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted tools in the preparation and writing of manuscripts submitted to the Jurnal Riset dan Kajian Pendidikan Fisika (JRKPF). It specifically addresses AI use in the writing process and does not, by itself, regulate the use of AI tools for data analysis or research insight generation, which must be conducted in accordance with applicable research ethics and methodological standards.

Authors may use AI or AI-assisted tools to improve language, grammar, clarity, readability, and the organization of their manuscripts. However, such tools must not replace the authors’ essential scholarly responsibilities, including developing scientific arguments, interpreting research findings, formulating conclusions, and establishing the originality and validity of the research. All AI-generated or AI-assisted content must be critically reviewed, verified, and edited by the authors to ensure its accuracy, relevance, objectivity, and academic integrity.

Authors remain fully responsible and accountable for the entire content of their manuscripts, including any material generated or modified using AI tools. Authors must be aware that AI systems may produce inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or biased information, as well as references that are incorrect or unverifiable.

Any use of AI or AI-assisted tools in the writing process must be transparently disclosed in the manuscript. The disclosure should identify the tool used and describe its purpose and extent of use. This statement will be included in the published article, where applicable. If no AI or AI-assisted tools were used in preparing the manuscript, authors are not required to provide a disclosure statement.

AI systems and AI-assisted tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors of manuscripts submitted to JRKPF. Authorship is reserved for individuals who meet the journal’s authorship requirements and can take responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the work, approve the final manuscript, consent to its submission and publication, ensure the originality of the research, and respect applicable intellectual property and third-party rights.

The use of AI does not exempt authors from complying with JRKPF’s publication ethics, originality requirements, citation standards, and other applicable author guidelines.
