This research endeavors to address this challenge by developing a valid and practical physics experiment module based on smartphone sensors, thereby facilitating easier access to experiments for students. Employing a research and development (R&D) approach, the development process adheres to the Borg & Gall procedural model. Material experts validated the module, yielding an average score of 90.75% in the appropriate category, while media experts rated it 88.75% in the highly suitable category. A practicality test involving 25 students produced an average score of 89.25% in response to the questionnaire. The research results show that this smartphone-based physics experiment module is valid and practical so it can be recommended for high school laboratory practicums, providing a cost-effective and easily accessible solution for improving physics education.
2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Endra Putra Raharja, Mustika Irianti, Ristya Dewi Lestari, Yuliana Kabes https://journal1.uad.ac.id/index.php/JRKPF/article/view/717 Development of interactive learning multimedia based on Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual (SAVI) approach assisted by Articulate Storyline 3 on circular motion material 2024-04-24T04:49:19+00:00 Adela Zulfa Sabila 202153090@student.unsil.ac.id Nana Nana nana@unsil.ac.id Ifa Rifatul Mahmudah ifa.rifatul@unsil.ac.id
There are limited learning approaches and laboratory facilities regarding developing interactive learning multimedia for circular motion material. Therefore, this research aims to develop interactive multimedia learning based on the Somatic, Auditory, Visual, and Intellectual (SAVI) approach assisted by Articulate Storyline 3 on circular motion material. This research is a type of research and development of the ADDIE model. The respondents involved were 31 students in class XI MIPA B and XI MIPA C. Experts validated the product from media, material, and language aspects. Product validity was analyzed using the Aiken V technique. The Aiken V index scores were 0.89, 0.92, and 0.89 for assessing media, material, and language aspects. The practicality assessment resulted in an average of 96%, which shows high practicality in the learning context. In conclusion, this SAVI-based interactive multimedia has been validated by experts and is well received by students. So, it has proven to be very suitable for effective learning at Darussalam Rajapolah Integrated High School, Tasikmalaya. This research implies that the development of interactive learning multimedia based on the Somatic, Auditory, Visual, and Intellectual (SAVI) approach assisted by Articulate Storyline 3 on circular motion material can be a solution to overcome the limitations of traditional learning approaches and laboratory facilities in teaching the concept of circular motion.
2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Adela Zulfa Sabila, Nana, Mahmudah https://journal1.uad.ac.id/index.php/JRKPF/article/view/677 Simple harmonic motion studied on spring-mass system using Phyphox application 2024-04-17T01:08:58+00:00 Infianto Boimau infiantoboimau@gmail.com Landiana E. Laos infiantoboimau@gmail.com
Simple harmonic motion experiments have been conducted using a smartphone-based spring-mass system with the Phyphox application. This research aims to investigate the relationship between the mass of an object and the period and frequency of oscillations and determine the spring constant using smartphone-based experimental equipment. The method uses the "spring" feature in the Phyphox application to visualize oscillatory movements in real-time and measure the period and frequency of oscillations. The experimental results show that the spring constant obtained from the smartphone-based experiment is 9.51 N/m, with a difference of 1.25% compared to the Hooke's Law experimental setup with the conventional method. This shows that using a smartphone-based experimental setup can be a better alternative for conducting physics experiments requiring high accuracy.
2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Infianto Boimau, Landiana E. Irma Sukarelawan irma.sukarelawan@pfis.uad.ac.id Panji Hidayat panji@pgsd.uad.ac.id Widodo Widodo widodo@uad.ac.id
Evaluating students' metacognitive awareness is necessary to identify weaknesses and strengths in managing their cognition, which can help develop effective cognitive regulation to overcome academic challenges. Therefore, this research aims to examine students' level of metacognitive awareness using Rasch modeling. Survey research was conducted on 122 students at FKIP. Metacognitive awareness was evaluated using the 18-item Jr. MAI, and each item uses a 5-point Likert rating scale. Jr. MAI in the Google form is distributed for 2–3 weeks. Metacognitive awareness data was analyzed using the Logit Value of Person (LVP) approach and the Person Wright Map in Rasch modeling. The analysis results show that the distribution of metacognitive awareness shows that the majority of physics education students tend to have a higher level of metacognitive awareness, while the distribution of metacognitive awareness among elementary school teacher education students is more even across all categories. The implication of this research is the need to develop effective cognitive regulation in overcoming academic challenges through evaluating students' metacognitive awareness.
2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Moh. This research aims to analyze students' creative thinking abilities by implementing Project-Based Learning Integrated with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM-PjBL) on motion dynamics material. The research method is descriptive qualitative, with data obtained through observation, interviews, and student worksheet documents. The research results show that two indicators are in a suitable category, namely fluency and authenticity, while the other two indicators, flexibility and elaboration, are in the poor category. Recommendations that can be given based on the results of this research include the need to integrate the STEM-PjBL method more deeply into physics learning to improve all indicators of creative thinking abilities, especially flexibility, and elaboration. This research emphasizes the importance of learning that prioritizes students as the center of learning to develop various essential creative thinking skills.
2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Ike Kumala Sari, Rif’ati Dina Handayani, Bambang Supriadi
