This research investigates the practices and effects of transformational educational leadership within Muhammadiyah schools. Utilizing a qualitative approach, data were gathered through comprehensive interviews with principals, teachers, and staff from various Muhammadiyah schools in select regions. The analysis shows that transformational educational leadership in these schools is marked by a strong dedication to reinforcing Islamic identity, improving educational quality, and encouraging positive social change. School leaders serve as change agents, motivating and empowering staff and students to reach broader educational objectives. They employ inclusive and participatory methods, rooted in Islamic values, for decision-making and policy development. The effects of transformational educational leadership are evident in academic enhancement, character development, and the instillation of Islamic values-based character. Furthermore, fostering an inclusive and empowering school culture leads to harmonious relationships among the schools, students, teachers, and the community. This study offers a deeper insight into the role and practices of transformational educational leadership in Muhammadiyah schools. The practical implications highlight the necessity of bolstering leadership and credibility founded on Islamic values to improve educational quality and make meaningful societal contributions.
2024-05-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Contemporary Education and Community Engagement (CECE) https://journal1.uad.ac.id/index.php/CECE/article/view/820 Development of Video-Based Learning Media on SPLDV Material to Improve Mathematics Learning Outcomes 2024-05-29T22:57:26+00:00 Siska Widia Kusumah 2108050029@webmail.uad.ac.id
This study aims to determine the impact of using video learning media on improving the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the study utilizes the ARCS research model, which encompasses student attention to the product (attention), assessment of product relevance (relevance), student confidence in using the product (confidence), and student satisfaction with the product (satisfaction). Data collection techniques include observations and structured questionnaires. The sample consists of eighth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. The research procedure involves needs analysis, design and development of the video learning media using the Renderforest application, implementation in classroom settings, and evaluation through collected data. Descriptive statistics summarize students' responses, while paired sample t-tests compare pretest and posttest scores to assess learning improvements. The study reveals that video learning media significantly enhances student engagement, comprehension of SPLDV material, and overall satisfaction with the learning process. The findings underscore the importance of integrating motivational elements into educational media to foster better academic outcomes. This research contributes to the understanding of digital learning tools in education, offering practical insights for educators to enhance student learning experiences through innovative media.
2024-05-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Contemporary Education and Community Engagement (CECE) https://journal1.uad.ac.id/index.php/CECE/article/view/817 Development of Problem-Based Learning Video Using Renderforest Application on Pythagoras Material 2024-05-29T22:41:50+00:00 Trisca Dwi Ravilla tdravilla@gmail.com
This research is a type of Research and Development (RD) study. The objective is to produce a video-based learning medium assisted by the Renderforest application on Pythagoras material. The study employs the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The learning method used is Problem Based Learning (PBL). The instruments used in this study are test and non-test instruments. The test instrument for students' mathematical problem-solving skills consists of essay questions, while the non-test instrument is a questionnaire assessing students' learning independence. Data collected includes both quantitative and qualitative data. Product feasibility is measured through validation and practicality tests. Data collection techniques include interviews and questionnaires.
2024-05-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Contemporary Education and Community Engagement (CECE) https://journal1.uad.ac.id/index.php/CECE/article/view/819 The Effect of Teams Games Tournament Method Assisted by Card Sort Media to Improve Student Creative Thinking Skill 2024-05-29T22:47:36+00:00 Rosa Karisma rosa.karisma@gmail.com Muhammad Nizaar nijadompu@gmail.com Haifaturrahmah haifaturrahmah@gmail.com
The aim of this research is to determine the influence of the Teams Game Tournament (TGT) method, assisted by card sort media, on enhancing creative thinking skills among fourth-grade students at SDN 15 Mataram. The research design employed in this study is a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test design. The research was conducted at SDN 15 Mataram, with a population of 40 students, consisting of 20 students in class IVa and 20 students in class IVb. The researchers used random sampling to select the sample, drawing lots conducted by the class teacher using a lottery system, resulting in class IVa as the experimental group and class IVb as the control group. Data collection methods in this study involved both test and non-test techniques. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that the t-test result (t-value) is 8.692, while the t-table value is 2.042. Since the t-value is greater than the t-table value (t-value > t-table), the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This indicates that the cooperative learning model of the make a match type can improve creative thinking skills among fourth-grade students.
2024-05-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Contemporary Education and Community Engagement (CECE) https://journal1.uad.ac.id/index.php/CECE/article/view/821 The Influence of Problem-Based Differentiated Learning on Critical Thinking Skills in Class V Science at Muhammadiyah Suronatan Elementary School 2024-05-29T22:59:56+00:00 Ika Maryani ika.maryani@pgsd.uad.ac.id Edy Mawardi edy2000005003@webmail.uad.ac.id
The aim of this research is to determine the effect of problem-based differentiated learning on the Critical Thinking Skills of class V students at SD Muhammadiyah Suronatan. This research is a quantitative study with a sample size of 28 experimental class students and 28 control class students. Data collection was carried out using observation sheets and pretest-posttest test questions. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial yaitu uji normalitas data, ujihomogenitas dan uji hipotesis. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis and inferential analysis, namely data normality testing, homogeneity testing and hypothesis testing. The results of the research show that there is a significant relationship between problem-based differentiated learning and critical thinking skills using the t test showing that the sig. (2-tailed) of 0.00, which means the value is < 0.05 with an average student graduation percentage of 86%.
2024-05-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Contemporary Education and Community Engagement (CECE)
